What is HOP?

HOP is Haynes Organization of Parents. It is a non-profit organization which is open to all parents and/or guardians of children attending Josiah Haynes School. Its purpose is to interact with the teachers, professional staff, administration and authorities of the Haynes School to support the educational programs and present programs and activities which aid and supplement the curriculum of Haynes School. HOP raises money to enable all activities of the organization.

What HOP Funds

The following chart lists the programs that HOP monies fund. The right hand column provides some examples of each program. For questions or for a more extensive list of examples, please contact Gill Emery or Lisa Gutch, HOP Co-Chairs.

Grade-based Activities
  • Kindergarten: Chicken Festival
  • 1st  Grade: Japan Day

Cultural Arts

How Can You Participate?

  • Volunteering: Through the many school programs that HOP runs, there are plenty of opportunities to be involved. Depending on your schedule, inclination and interest, you can help with many events from organizing and running an event, helping out on the day of an event or lending behind the scenes support.
  • Financial: Everything HOP supports depends on the money raised by our fundraising efforts. Various fundraising events include Direct Appeal, Bingo, Parents Night, Moonlight Café, Book Fair, Notepads, Directories, Giftware, Hayneswear, Family Photo, Recycling, Box Tops and purchases made through the online shopping link at www.haynespto.org.
